Eczema is a brutal skin condition. This past summer was a hot one across the United States, and one of the things that I dealt with was eczema flaring up on the inside of my arms (near my elbows), behind my knees, and on my lower eyelids. As any eczema sufferer knows, heat can make eczema quickly rear its ugly head. I decided to take a personal approach by writing on my own experience using what I think is the best cream for eczema.

I saw that it had hundreds of positive reviews, one of the first key indicators I look at when purchasing a product online. Next, it was being sold on Amazon which has a generous return policy. With these two factors taken into account, I bought myself the 7.3oz bottle.

Dermatologist Approved and Steroid Free

One of the downsides when you suffer from eczema is the fact that any topical medicine a doctor prescribes to you is a steroid cream. They work, but you have to be careful with how you apply them onto your skin. Some of the steroid creams for eczema have a tendency to thin out your skin, some bleach your skin, and others can thicken skin. I was drawn to a more natural, non-steroid treatment primarily for these reasons. I now keep a bottle in my car, at my office, and on my nightstand so that I can be proactive about using it.

I have found that by regularly applying this lotion after showering and before going to sleep at night has helped eliminate my flare-ups during the day.

Non-Greasy and Fragrance-Free

Many men deal with eczema, and don’t want to be wearing a lotion that makes them smell like they got out of Bath and Body Works. This lotion is not greasy like a lot of other creams I’ve tried, which makes it easy to wash off. Some of the skin creams I’ve bought to fight eczema left a thick, greasy film. I really can’t stand it. It makes it hard to get comfortable, especially if you’re putting it on your face. Aveeno did a great job with this Eczema Therapy cream since it is made with a “colloidal oatmeal” formula, making it nice and smooth. Needless to say, I’m a big fan of it!
